Trash Day

This is how Tessa spends most of Trash Day. To you and me, we recognize that clanging, crunching, vrooming as the waste management truck. But to those who might not be aware, I could understand how it sounds like the world is coming to an end or that a monstrous mechanical coyote is after them.

What a cute little puppy!

I just started my pediatrics residency a few weeks ago and my first rotation was in the newborn nursery. Imagine you're a new mother, brimming with excitement yet anxious about every movement or noise that the baby makes. The pediatric intern comes in for the first official exam of this bundle of joy, picks the baby up and says "What a cute little puppy!". Can you blame me? Tessa IS a cute little puppy, which flows so easily off your lips, and I say it often hence "cute" is always followed by "puppy" in my brain. And Tessa loves to be held like a baby:


Another time I told a new mom I'd put her baby back in her crate. Oops...
